The History of Henry Glasgow piano repairing tradition goes all the way back to his grand father James McElwee. This is where piano tuning and restoration took root back in 1910. Henry’s uncle John McElwee continued the piano tuning and restoration tradition in 1918. When Henry was growing up as a boy he learned the fine craft of woodworking, piano repair and restoration.
Henry Glasgow continued the tradition in 1960 full time in the Washingto, DC area. His son Scot Glasgow and son in law Authur Sauer help Henry built the Glasgow piano empire. In 1975 Henry moved to the Raleigh,NC area where he built a number of clientele and firmly established himself as the number # 1 piano tuner in the area. Henry serves the Cary, Apex, Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill areas.
Henry has associations with The Piano Shoppe of Cary, Maus Piano, Meredith College, Peace college, St Mary’s College, St Augustine’s College, North Carolina Theater, Theater in the Park, Stewant theater, Thompson Theater, Raleigh Little Theater, Kennedy Theater, Walnut Creek Theater and the North Carolina Symphony Company.
